The Great Work

The movement of energy and consciousness toward and into the heart releases the workings of the mind,

allowing a spaciousness to form around mental activities.

To the heart, this moment is enough.

There is not a sense of "things that must be done," or that the day is long or that many years stretch before and behind.

The pressure of circumstance diminishes, and impossible conditions lose their ominous and threatening tone.

Then the "Great Work" is perceived not as something extraordinary to be done in the world.

Rather, it emerges as a diligent attention upon reality as this presents itself,

an inward and inconspicuous activity

that is wholly invisible to others.

  1. This is such a beautiful rememberance to Truth..."For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it." Our minds when we follow them are a maze and it's mind blowing to me how, having experienced the profound opening up of Eternity in the moment...or the natural flow of life from our heart when simply focused and present...how or why I would ever wander and get lost in the labyrinth of time again, but I do. It's like chasing butterflies all day trying to figure out where they are headed, can be fun but there is little accomplished that is of true worth huh?
