Prayer to the Mother of God

Help me, Mother of God, to move beyond my selfish neediness, my longing for personal satisfaction and comfort.

Help me to love more truly, hoping only for the highest good for others.

Help me to be patient; to wait without anxiety for Providence to unfold events according to God's perfect will.

Help me to nuture the healing of my woundedness through patience, perseverance and prayer.

Help me to be grateful for those who have loved me and to not bind them unfairly to myself.

Help me to return their love with wisdom, courage and compassion, yet without resentment or pride.

Help me, Mother of God, to accept "what is" without resistance.

Help me to be content, even joyful, with my cross and path through life.

Help me to bear uncertainty calmly; to be at peace with not knowing "outcomes" or "reasons why."

Help me to live for the New Jersusalem of Light.

May I be made worthy to awaken and enter the House of the Lord.

Amen

  1. I like it when you talk about Mary. She looks so pretty! When I was a teenager I thought she was inaccessible, and what I am learning is that there is a reason she's called the Mother of Sorrows. If I feel enough sorrow in my heart, she's there.

But then she does smile so nice too!

"And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be."
