The four directions of the heart appeared, each in its own color of red, green, yellow and black. The directions stretched as far as the eye could see, and within each the heart longed to be purged, set free of its burdens of attachment.
According to ancient alchemical symbolism, four refers to a synthesis, a striving for wholeness. And so the heart surveyed the four directions of its reaching into life, eager to release all.
The heart now “waits on the Lord,” for the purging is something given, bestowed, rather than made to happen.
And it knows that in this release and purging is peace unimaginable.
The “peace which passes understanding.”
Wow, that was wild, I closed a tab and there you were, hmmmmmm lol... how cool!
ReplyDeleteWell, I must be deeply unconscious and have been bestowed a gift of the four directions!

Thank-you.
